ON THE MOVE IN ASIA...

This week we are welcoming the new “7 Weeks in Asia” missions team; youth who come from across North America and the UK to travel to three nations in Asia.We will be putting every step of it on our Continuum TV show and on the web, which means we will be working 24/7 to bring the weekly updates.
Sawang will be traveling with the team on most of the trips, and I’ll be going on one trip too, so we ask for your prayers during this time.

Sawang and I are currently looking after the El Shaddai 2 kids (15 of them) while their parents are fundraising in Canada! We are having a blast with them even though we will only be with them for 3 weeks. Please continue to pray for parents Dave & Terry Wharf as they fundraise, and also pray for them all as a family!

Some urgent things to pray for would be for Pastor Peter Jamshed and his ministry in Pakistan, which has been
under heavy pressure from Muslims to close their doors. An entire village where one of our Victory churches is located, was attacked this week by Muslim extremists. Log onto www.continuummedia.com/news next week for the full story.
We’d like to say thanks to those of you who have made donations in the past couple months, most of that money will be going towards the 7 Weeks in Asia trip. Your money will be spreading the gospel to Vietnam, Cambodia, and the jungle regions of Thailand, and God will reward the seed you have sowed!
We want to thank our partners who are helping us advance God’s kingdom in Asia! BUT WE ASK YOU TO PARTNER with us in reaching the world with the gospel. Please prayerfully consider financial partnership; we need your help! We are looking for people to partner with us $10, $20, $30, or whatever God wants you to give.

Who is My Neighbour?

Who is My Neighbour?

As I stepped onto the sidewalk, I noticed him. Lying there, lifeless, as passersby passed him by without a second look, he remained helpless. Sawang went right over to him to see if he was...alive, and discovered, yes, the man was just unconscious and reaked of whiskey.
Sawang phoned the police and we waited over an hour for someone to come and collect the man. Even though Sawang had not mentioned the man smelled of alcohol, that's what everyone who saw him figured, and refused to help us.
A police truck finally made it's way slowly up the road toward us, but took one look at the man on the side of the road and just kept on driving.
This reminds me of that famous account of the Good Samaritan in the bible.
“A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’ So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?” And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”
That man had been abused, and still stirred no compassion in others. This present day victim's wounds were self-inflicted, yet he, too, needs someone to reach out to him with compassion.

A Lifestyle
I believe this biblical account is not only an example of how we should be in general, but also of how God views missions. He moved on the heart of the Samaritan to minister to a foreigner, when his own people had no compassion for him.
The Good Samaritan is how God views missions. It is our responsibility and priviledge to minister to the lost who are not of our tribe, language, culture. Notice the Samaritan was in a foreign land himself, and saw his responsibility laid out before him. That is how I see my calling, and I want you too see your role in being a Good Samaritan, and partner with us to minister to those whose own people have forsaken them.

MISSION: ASIA MAY 2010

WAR IN BANGKOK!

We are hearing all sorts of reports but the reality is simple:
only a small section of Bangkok has been seeing action and the rest of the country is unaffected. For our ministry, life goes on as normal.

Victory Xtreme is a youth outreach we launched last month, but have we stepped out too quickly? We need leaders, and fast! Please pray for us as we seek God’s will on how to serve the youth already coming on Friday nights.

Continuum is branching out and is now airing in stations across Canada and the US. We are believing for
men and women across nine nations in Asia!

Together in Christ, Sawang & Lee-Anne

MISSION: ASIAFebruary Report from the Front Lines

Children’s Day, VCA Conference, & More!
Sawang just got back from the Philippines; boy are things hopping out there! Him & his dad got some footage of the latest church plant, over 500 people showed up on the first Sunday! We’ll be airing the show on Continuum TV THIS WEEK so check it out on our site, www.continuummedia.com! (it’s not quite ready yet so if you go and it’s not there, just give us a couple days!)

We also had a massive outreach opportunity on Children’s Day, we were face painting and some of the El Shaddai I family gave their testimony of Jesus’ saving them and bringing them into the family! Great time to get our ministry known in the community.

This week Drs. George and Hazel Hill from Victory Churches International are here for a Victory Asia conference! Sawang & I are hosting four pastors from Pakistan in our home for this exciting time of refreshing and building up of all the churches in Asia.
Upcoming trips: Cambodia, Burma, and Pakistan in March. If you’d like to help with tickets, we can go with Dr. Al to encourage the saints in these precious nations.

We have a new girl who is handling finances in our ministry office, and there have been some mixups in donations. If you have begun partnering monthly, or given a one-time donation, please email us and we can verify with her. There are a couple people who have promised to give and we want to make sure those finances are going where you meant them to!
Till next month, you and we are together in Christ,

Sawang & Lee-Anne Treetippitak

November 2009

Long after the news media quits reporting, people in Philippines are still hurting after the devastation caused by Typhoon Ketsana. Our ministry team was on hand to meet their needs and share the love of Christ. That and more this issue of Mission:Asia, your window to the Great Commission front lines.

TYPHOON ROARS ACROSS PHILIPPINES
Typhoon Ondoy (internationally named Ketsana) roared across the Philippines Saturday, September 26, 2009, devastating the nation with flash floods and landfalls in several provinces.
Though the nation was unprepared for a disaster of this magnitude, Fairview Victory Church joined several public and private organizations in giving food and funds to Typhoon victims, and organized clean up missions in disaster zones half a mile from the ministry base. In the past week many Victory Church members have been volunteering their time to assist in areas affected by the storm.
Pastor Richard Conte noted, “We’ve given 4,116 bags of relief goods! That's 4000 families who've been able eat! We're distributing not only food &
used clothing, but new clothes, towels, bed sheets, flip flops & straw mats to sleep on, and some building materials too!”
As the country recouperated, Victory Philippines decided to host a worship conference. Hundreds were blessed as a team from Canada taught; Dr. Al and a small team were also there for follow up from the disaster and to help the ministry move forward.
In January, Sawang and I hope to go to this amazing country to get some filming done for Continuum TV and to help minister there where needed. The nation is in the beginning stages of revival, and it’s all hands on deck to usher in a new generation of believers into the Kingdom of God!

SEPTEMBER 2009 MIRACLES STILL HAPPEN!!

MIRACLES STILL HAPPEN!!
Just as we were on the last leg of our “7 Weeks in Asia” summer mission trip, God opened a new door for us in Canada.

Sawang & I were pretty disappointed when we realized going to Canada in June wasn’t going to happen, but God is on His throne and our lives belong to Him.
We left the situation with God, and lo and behold, He made a way where there seemed to be no way for us to get there.
Sawang found a seat sale online and we booked our tickets straight away. We are paying for two tickets, the same price we would have paid for 1 ticket in June.
WE ARE COMING TO CANADA!!!!
We will be in Ontario from October 15th to November 8th and we would love to come and see you!!
If anyone would like us to come speak at a bible study, youth group, cell group, church meeting, prayer meeting, or anything else, we would be delighted to share about all God is doing across the nations of Asia. If you know of any churches who would like to have us come speak let us know at gottawearshades@hotmail.com .
In other news, VBCI Thailand is in full swing now, most of our students have arrived, but we are still waiting on 2 from Burma and 2 from Nepal. Please pray for them, as many people have trouble getting visas out of their countries to come study the bible in Thailand.
Please continue to pray for our ministry team as we serve God for another year to advance the Kingdom of God in Asia.
Looking forward to seeing everyone, will keep in touch with details.
